Georgia Legislative Black Caucus Elects New Executive Board

ATLANTA (January 6, 2021) |The Georgia Legislative Black Caucus, on January 4th, elected its new executive board for the 2021-22 term. Led by State Senator Tonya P. Anderson (D – 43), the board oversees a caucus comprising of 65 members representing every part of the state.

“It is a truly an honor to have been elected as Chairwoman of the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus,” said Sen. Anderson. “The GLBC drafts and sponsors legislation that affects the Black population in Georgia. We represent the many who are at times not equally represented when considering public policy. As Chairwoman, I am looking forward to continuing to offer a Black perspective to the legislature to promote progress and change.”

The 2021-22 Executive Board comprises of the following members:      

  • State Senator Tonya Anderson, Chair
  • State Representative Derrick Jackson, Vice-Chair
  • State Representative Jasmine Clark, Secretary
  • State Representative Shelly Hutchinson, Treasurer
  • State Senator Donzella James, GLBC Senate Whip
  • State Representative Dar’Shun Kendrick, GLBC House Whip

Established in 1975, the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus is a 501(c)3 non-profit, nonpartisan organization comprising of 65 Georgia House and Senate members.
