ATLANTA (September 25, 2017) | The Joint Study Committee on Storm-Water Management Fees will hold its first meeting on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in Athens, Georgia at The Classic Center.
The Joint Study Committee on Storm-Water Management Fees was created by the passage of Senate Resolution 224. Senator Frank Ginn (R – Danielsville) and Representative Lynn Smith (R – Newnan) serve as co-chairs of the study committee which is comprised of 12 members who will evaluate existing data and current practices for storm-water management fees. The goal of the committee is to find the correct balance between water quality protection and proper management of storm-water systems. Members are responsible for submitting a report of findings and recommendations, including proposed legislation, by December 31, 2017.
