“The Georgia Legislative Black Caucus is saddened about the passing of Vernon Jordan. We send our condolences and prayers to his family, friends, and all who were inspired by his audacity to achieve greatness on his terms.

Jordan was a proud Atlantan who served his community as an attorney, then lending his strategic brilliance to the NAACP, Southern Regional Council, Voter Education Project, United Negro College Fund and the National Urban League. He was committed to our community and the ideals of democracy.

It is incumbent of us who benefit from his legacy to honor his sacrifice, his grit, his resolve by continuing the struggle for freedom, justice, equity, and opportunity. Vernon Jordan deserves no less.”
