Kimberly Alexander (D – Atlanta), along with members of the bipartisan bicameral caucus, honored Speaker Jones for breaking barriers for women and girls in Georgia and for her steady leadership after assuming the position during the difficult time following Speaker David Ralston’s unexpected death in November 2022.

ATLANTA (December 9, 2022) | Georgia State Senator Sonya Halpern (D – Atlanta) is currently on a trip to Israel with a delegation of fourteen elected officials and civic leaders from across the nation. The week-long trip is co-sponsored by the American-Israel Friendship League (AIFL) and the State of Israel’s Minister of Foreign Affairs. Sen. Halpern will visit Tel Aviv and Metula before visiting holy sites in Jerusalem and the Yad Vashem, Israel’s official Holocaust memorial. The group will also visit the Knesset (the Israeli Parliament) in addition to participating in meetings and briefings with officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
