The collage also includes a photo of Senator Seay and her colleagues as they stood on the 3rd-floor balcony, looking down in a state of mourning over the loss of Mrs. King.

Senator Sheikh Rahman Appointed to Conservation Corps Advisory Council

ATLANTA (June 6, 2023) | On May 17, Senator Sheikh Rahman (D – Lawrenceville) was appointed to serve as a member of the Conservation Corps Advisory Council by Lt. Governor Burt Jones. The Council will comprise of fifteen members, including six members of the Georgia General Assembly.

Senator Freddie Powell-Sims Appointed to the Georgia Council on Literacy

ATLANTA (May 22, 2023) | On May 16, State Senator Freddie Powell-Sims (D – Dawson) was appointed to serve as a member of the Georgia Council on Literacy. The Georgia Council on Literacy was created by Senate Bill 211 during the 2023 Georgia Legislative Session. The Council will comprise ten members of the Georgia Legislature and twenty citizen members who are experts in literacy and education.
