Due to his role as Majority Leader of the Senate Majority Caucus, Sen. Gooch serves as a member of the Senate Committee on Assignments. The Senate Committee on Assignments it chaired by the President of the Senate, the Lieutenant Governor, and is composed of the President Pro Tempore of the Senate, The Majority Leader, and two senators chosen by the Lieutenant Governor.
