Senator Kay Kirkpatrick to Serve as Chair of the Senate Committee on Children and Families

ATLANTA (January 13, 2023) | Earlier this week, Sen. Kay Kirkpatrick (R – Marietta) was appointed to serve as Chair of the Senate Committee on Children and Families for the 2023 Legislative Session. The Senate Committee on Children and Families was established pursuant to Senate Resolution 3, which was passed and adopted during the first week of the 2023 Legislative Session. The Senate Committee on Assignments, chaired by Lt. Governor Burt Jones, is responsible for assigning the Senate Body to committees.

Reps. David Knight, Karen Mathiak, Lauren Daniel, Sen. Marty Harbin Working With State, Local Officials to Assess Storm Damage, Mobilize Clean-up Efforts in Spalding, Henry Counties

ATLANTA – State Representatives David Knight (R-Griffin), Karen Mathiak (R-Griffin), Lauren Daniel (R-Locus Grove) and State Senator Marty Harbin (R-Tyrone) are working with state and local officials, including the Georgia Emergency Management Agency and Homeland Security (GEMA/HS), to assess damages and mobilize clean-up efforts following a tornado and severe storms in Henry and Spalding counties.
