Capitol Recap: The 2020 Session Convenes

This week signified the beginning of the 2020 legislative session and by extension, the second season of the 155th General Assembly. As I took my seat in the Senate Chamber on Monday, I was reminded of the incredible opportunity I have to serve you, members of District 20. Thank you for allowing me to represent you under the Gold Dome and I look forward to allowing your voice to be heard in future legislation. Our gaveling in on Monday marked the first of many meetings to come, discussing the most important issues concerning all Georgians. The next few months will be a busy time and I will continue to update you on our progress.

Sen. Renee Unterman Introduces Bill on Vapor Products

ATLANTA (January 16, 2020) | Yesterday, January 15, 2020, Sen. Renee Unterman (R – Buford) introduced a piece of legislation which outlines new restrictions on the use, sale and marketing of alternative nicotine products, such as vapor devices or vapor cartridges. The bill, Senate Bill 298, would also require local boards of education to include mandatory instruction in schools on vaping and smoking, in addition to alcohol and drugs.
