ATLANTA (October 29, 2018) | Today, Sen. Mike Dugan (R – Carrollton) received the Senate Legislator of the Year award from the Georgia State Firefighters Association and the Georgia Association of Fire Chiefs.
“I was honored that a portion of the Carrollton City and Carroll County Firefighters took time out of their schedules to come see me presented with the Georgia Firefighters Association’s Legislator of the Year award,” said Sen. Dugan. “I’m humbled to be recognized by some of the bravest people our state has to offer.”
“Sen. Dugan has been a steadfast champion of the fire service in Georgia since he was first elected and this award is to show our appreciation for his support,” said President of the Georgia State Firefighters Association David Bullard.
“Sen. Dugan has been a driving force in the General Assembly to ensure that our rural volunteer firefighters are given the resources they need to keep Georgians safe,” said President of the Georgia Association of Fire Chiefs Charles Wasdin.
Sen. Dugan received the Legislator of the Year award for his outstanding service and support of public safety and firefighters. Sen. Dugan serves as secretary of the Senate Public Safety Committee, as well as secretary of the Senate Transportation and Veterans, Military and Homeland Security Committees. He also serves as chairman of the Senate Economic Development and Tourism Committee.
