Second Meeting of the Senate Study Committee on the Excessive and Duplicative Regulatory Oversight of Community Based IDD Services

ATLANTA (October 1, 2018) | The second meeting of the Senate Study Committee on the Excessive and Duplicative Regulatory Oversight of Community Based Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD) Services, chaired by Sen. Mike Dugan (R – Carrollton), will be held TOMORROW, October 2, 2018, at 9:00 a.m. at the Reese Park Economic Development Center in Americus, Georgia.

The Senate Study Committee on the Excessive and Duplicative Regulatory Oversight of Community Based Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD) Services was created by the passage of Senate Resolution 506 during the 2018 Legislative Session. As stated in the resolution, the committee shall be comprised of three members of the Senate, as well as two non-legislative representatives of providers of IDD services in Georgia. The study committee will review current IDD services, assessments and certifications to address more efficient service systems for a variety of needs pertinent to individuals. The committee must report its findings on or before December 1, 2018.
