ATLANTA (January 13, 2023) | Yesterday, Sen. Chuck Payne (R – Dalton) was appointed to serve as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Science and Technology.
“I would like to thank Lt. Governor Burt Jones and the Senate Committee on Assignments for giving me the opportunity to serve in this capacity as Chairman of Senate Committee on Science and Technology,” said Sen. Payne. “As our state and nation becomes more technologically advanced, it is vital that that the laws of our state follow suit. We as a committee will work to ensure that Georgia is able to continue to serve as a major technological hub through the adaptation of the needed laws and regulations. I am eager to work alongside my fellow committee members as we analyze the bills assigned.”
In addition to serving as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Science and Technology, Sen. Payne will also serve as Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Education and Youth as well as Secretary for the Senate Committees on Higher Education and Veterans, Military, and Homeland Security. He will also serve as Ex-Officio for the Senate Committee on Appropriations, Children and Families and Public Safety.
