ATLANTA- (February 3, 2012) – The 2012 General Assembly just completed its fourteenth legislative day this week. I wanted to take a chance to update you on some of the bigger news items going on in the state Senate.

ATLANTA (February 3, 2012) – As the 2012 legislative session progresses, there is a growing number of bills being sent to the Senate floor. We are now at a point where it is not uncommon to see five or six bills in the well on any given day.
ATLANTA (February 3, 2012) –The Georgia Senate passed SB 225 on Thursday in a unanimous vote. Sponsored by Senator Butch Miller (R-Gainesville), this legislation would enforce stricter penalties on individuals found guilty of knowingly and willingly reporting false information to law enforcement.

ATLANTA (February 3, 2012) –The Georgia Senate passed SB 319 on Thursday in a unanimous vote. Sponsored by Sen. Rick Jeffares (R-Locust Grove), this legislation would restrict the use of boats on state park lakes and other areas when the Department of Natural Resources has posted a sign or other form of notice restricting such use.
