Senator James Announces Ambassador Round Table Program
ATLANTA (Jan. 8, 2010) – State Sen. Donzella James (D-Atlanta) will select 35 community leaders from the 35th district to participate in an Ambassador Round Table. The mission of the program is to make government more accessible and easier for constituents to understand by allowing community leaders to become a part of the process. Sen. James will attend the meetings and use the suggestions from the ambassadors to create legislation based on the needs of the community. No issue will be off limits during the meetings with topics ranging from education, the economy and health care.

Sen. Seay to Serve as Grand Marshall for MLK Parade
ATLANTA (Jan. 7, 2010) – Sen. Valencia Seay (D-Riverdale) will serve as Grand Marshall for the 2010 Martin Luther King, Jr. birthday celebration and parade, sponsored by the Fayette County NAACP on Monday, Jan. 18. Seay is a Life Member of the NAACP, and has been active throughout her political career in supporting the organization’s goals and endeavors.

Sen. Thomas Named Influential Georgian
DALTON (Jan. 6, 2010) – State Senator Don Thomas (R-Dalton) was named one of the 100 Most Influential Georgians by Georgia Trend, a popular business and political magazine. He was selected for this honor because of his leadership in the Georgia legislature and the medical community of Dalton.
