First Meeting of Senate Study Committee on Reducing Georgia’s Cost of Doing Business

ATLANTA (August 26, 2019) | Sen. John Wilkinson (R – Toccoa) will host the first meeting of the Senate Study Committee on Reducing Georgia’s Cost of Doing Business Thursday, August 29, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. in room 450 at the Georgia State Capitol.

The Senate Study Committee on Reducing Georgia’s Cost of Doing Business has 15 members who are tasked with reviewing the current legal climate and other areas that impact the cost of doing business in Georgia. The study committee will report its findings before or on December 1, 2019.

The first meeting will include the following presenters:

Tiger Joyce, American Tort Reform Association

Cary Silverman, US Chamber of Commerce

Jake Daly, Georgia Defense Lawyers Association

Bill Custer, Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP

There is no allotted time for public comment at this meeting. Public testimony will be heard at a later time, which will be detailed in the meeting’s agenda.
