Working Families Legislative Caucus Promotes Solutions to Address Revenue Shortfalls

WHAT:           State Sen. Gloria Butler (D-Stone Mountain), Sen. Nan Orrock (D-Atlanta), Rep. Virgil Fludd (D-Tyrone), Rep. Debbie Buckner (D-Junction City), Rep. Roberta Abdul-Salaam (D-Riverdale), Rep. Brian Thomas (D-Lilburn), Rep. Rick Crawford (D-Cedartown) and Rep. Stephanie Stuckey Benfield (D-Atlanta),officers and members from the Working Families Legislative Caucus will present policy solutions to address state budget shortfalls during a press conference on Thursday, Feb. 18 at 1 p.m. 

Georgia families are hard hit by the economic downturn.  Current leadership proposals to address this crisis with budget cuts and furloughs fall hardest on Georgia’s working families. The Caucus has adopted a range of policy solutions it believes are necessary to balance strategic cuts with revenue solutions that will better meet the needs of Georgians and protect education, health, social service and public safety programs.
