ATLANTA (March 4, 2025) — On Wednesday, March 5, Senate Minority Leader Sen. Harold Jones II (D–Augusta) will hold a press conference with the NAACP Defense Legal Fund, the Georgia State Conference of NAACP, the Urban League of Greater Atlanta, the ACLU of Georgia and the League of Women Voters on Senate Bill 120. SB 120 would prevent public schools, local education agencies and public postsecondary institutions from promoting, supporting, or maintaining programs or activities that advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion.

ATLANTA (March 4, 2025) — On Friday, Senate Bill 145 passed out of the Senate and now moves to the Georgia House of Representatives for further consideration. Sen. Harold Jones II (D–Augusta), Leader of the Democratic Caucus, co-sponsored the measure with Senators Max Burns (R–Sylvania) and Lee Anderson (R–Grovetown). SB 145 would provide a sixth judge to the superior courts of the Augusta Judicial Circuit.

ATLANTA (February 4, 2025) — On Wednesday, February 5, at 2:00 p.m., Senate Minority Leader Harold Jones II (D–Augusta) and Sen. Sally Harrell (D–Atlanta) will hold a press conference on Senate Resolution 84. SR 84 proposes a constitutional amendment that would aim to protect access to abortion. It also aims to protect both those who seek an abortion and those who assist a pregnant individual in accessing an abortion from prosecution.
