Statement on the Death of Savannah Reverend Dr. Lexcie E. Aiken

ATLANTA (Mar. 7, 2024) – Today, Sen. Derek Mallow (D–Savannah) gave the following statement on the death of Rev. Dr. Lexcie E. Aiken, who served the St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church in Savannah, Georgia.

“It is with a heavy heart that I mourn the loss of Reverend Dr. Lexcie E Aiken, an awe-inspiring man of God. Rev. Aiken was a beloved spiritual leader and pillar of the Savannah community. His impact extends far beyond the walls of the St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church. He touched the hearts of many and brought wisdom to many individuals from all walks of life. His presence will be greatly missed. While we mourn his passing, it is vital to reflect on the profound impact that he made while continuing to spread his enduring spirit of faith, compassion and unity. I extend my deepest condolences to the family of Rev. Dr. Lexcie E. Aiken and all who were blessed to know him. May Rev. Akins’s soul rest in eternal peace.”
