Statement by Senator Jason Anavitarte on Teacher Appreciation Week

ATLANTA (February 9, 2021) | In recognition of Teacher Appreciation Week, Senator Jason Anavitarte (R – Dallas) issues the following statement:

“I want to acknowledge and praise our great teachers in Georgia this week, and I would like to encourage others to do the same. As a former school board member and father of three children who attend public school here in Georgia, I understand the impact teachers have. They are shaping our future movers and shakers.

During this pandemic, our educators have had to adapt and forge new ways ahead like no one else. They are not only responsible for ensuring our children do not experience any loss of learning during these times, but also for keeping up morale and enthusiasm in the classroom. They have had to be innovative and persevere through things they never anticipated.

One week is simply not enough time to show my appreciation to educators in Georgia. Thank you for all you do, your work does not go unnoticed. I hope you feel very supported and loved not only this week, but always.”
