ATLANTA (November 9, 2015) | Last month, Senator Tyler Harper (R- Ocilla) was awarded an Honorary American FFA Degree from the National FFA Organization. He was awarded this accolade based on his work in advancing agriculture education and FAA through outstanding personal commitment.
“My entire childhood was enriched through my membership with FFA and it is truly an honor receive this recognition,” said Sen. Harper. “I look forward to continuing my work with this outstanding organization that molds and shapes young minds by empowering our youth to pursue their dreams in agriculture. Georgia is without a doubt a better place thanks to the FFA and I remain grateful for their contribution to my life and the lives of countless others.”
Sen. Harper was nominated for this honor by members of the National FFA Organization’s board. He attended the 2015 National FFA Convention & Expo in Louisville, KY from Oct. 28-31 where he was presented with a certificate and medal. A group of Georgia FFA members were in attendance to share in Sen. Harper’s achievement.
The Honorary American FFA Degree is an opportunity to recognize those who have gone beyond valuable daily contributions to make an extraordinary long-term difference in the lives of students, inspiriting confidence in a new generation of agriculturists.
The National FFA Organization provided leadership, personal growth and career success training through agricultural education to 610,240 student members who belong to one of 7,655 local FFA chapters throughout the U.S., Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
