Senator Michelle Au Sworn into the Georgia Senate

ATLANTA (January 12, 2021) | On Monday, January 11th, Sen. Michelle Au (D – Johns Creek) was sworn into the Georgia Senate to serve Senate District 48, which includes portions of Gwinnett and Fulton counties. This will begin the start of Sen. Au’s two-year term in office.   

“It is an incredible honor to be able to represent the hardworking people of District 48, and to continue to promote and fight for the very ideals that have inspired me from the beginning,” said Sen. Au. “As we have seen throughout the past couple of weeks, and months, the issues plaguing our state and community are multi-faceted. However, I look forward to working diligently, and effectively, with my colleagues to help address the concerns affecting us all. I am optimistic of the work ahead and finding legislative solutions to making Georgia a better, healthier state for individuals and families.”

Senator Au is one of ten newly elected senators and 46 returning senators who participated in the ceremonial swearing in, administered by Georgia Supreme Court Justice Charlie Bethel. Accompanying Sen. Au at the state Capitol were her husband and three children.
