ATLANTA (September 22, 2014) | Sen. Judson Hill (R – Marietta) has announced a series of meetings aimed towards expanding the discussion on tax reform and education efforts throughout the state. The first meeting will be held Friday, September 26, at 10:00 a.m. at the Georgia State Capital. Additional meetings are scheduled for October 7 in Rome and October 16 in Macon.
Speakers scheduled for the first meeting include:
- Michael Harden, Georgia State Director, Americans for Prosperity
- Jerry Weil and Pat Tuley, Tax Reform Task Force members, Georgia Society of CPA’s
- William Freeland, Tax Policy Analyst, American Legislative Exchange Council
Hosted by the Senate Finance Committee’s Tax Reform Subcommittee, the meetings will explore options to lower Georgia’s personal income tax rates, tax reform measures in other states, and economic development initiatives. The subcommittee will also discuss proposals to enhance Georgia’s competitiveness in an effort to create jobs and a stronger business environment.
