Senate Democratic Caucus Announces Leadership Positions

ATLANTA (November 28, 2022) | Today, the Senate Democratic Caucus held elections on caucus leadership positions for the 2023-2024 Legislation Session.

Sen. Gloria Butler (D – Stone Mountain) was re-elected to serve as Leader of the Senate Democratic Caucus.

“I am honored and humbled that my colleagues in the Democratic Caucus have placed their trust in me once again to serve as Leader,” said. Sen. Butler. “I am eager to lead our Caucus during this upcoming legislative session as we continue to put the needs of all Georgians first and ensuring all have access to proper and adequate resources to keep Georgia families safe and healthy.”

Additional leadership positions will be as follows:

Caucus Chair: Sen. Elena Parent (D – Atlanta)

Caucus Whip: Sen. Harold Jones II (D – Augusta)

Caucus Vice Chair: Sen. Sonya Halpern (D –Atlanta)

Vice Chair of Fundraising and Campaigns: Sen. David Lucas (D – Macon)

Caucus Secretary: Sen. Nan Orrock (D – Atlanta)
