Sen. Vincent Fort to Kick Off “Moral Sunday” as Part of Moral Monday Movement

ATLANTA (Jan. 9, 2014)  |  Sen. Vincent Fort (D- Atlanta) will join Moral Monday Georgia SUNDAY, Jan. 11, 2015 at 10:45 am  to make a presentation at Mt. Ephraim Baptist Church to inform public of the Moral Monday Movement. The “Moral Sunday” presentation will take place during regularly scheduled church service.

Moral Monday Georgia, a broad coalition of community and faith-based organizations and individuals led by the Georgia NAACP, is calling for moral and responsible state government. “Moral Sunday” has been designed to coincide with the start of the 2015 Legislative Session and Sen. Fort will join supporters in continuing to urge Gov. Nathan Deal to expand Medicaid as provided by the Affordable Care Act. He will also join supporters in encouraging the adoption of body cameras on police officers, no knock warrant reform and other law enforcement reforms.  More than 100 metro Atlanta churches will be participating in “Moral Sunday”.

A series of Monday actions will follow at the state Capitol.
