ATLANTA (June 9, 2017) | Sen. Vincent Fort (D – Atlanta) joins other state legislators across the country in signing onto a statement opposing the United States’ exit from the Paris Climate Agreement.
“Our environment must remain one of the top priorities for the federal government, as well as state and local governments,” said Sen. Fort. “Climate change disproportionately affects working class families, communities of color and the elderly. Deals such as the Paris Climate Agreement are designed to ensure that our country leads the way when it comes to building a sustainable future for generations to come. I join my fellow state legislators throughout the country in opposing any effort to withdraw from the Agreement.”
The statement was created by The National Caucus of Environmental Legislators (NCEL) and has received signatures from elected officials at the state level across the country. For more information, you can visit: http://ncel.net/news/
