ATLANTA (March 30, 2017) | Senator Tonya Anderson (D – Lithonia) welcomed Gladys Brown to the Senate Chamber on Tuesday, March 28, 2017.
“Mrs. Brown is one of the most inspiring women I’ve met and I was honored to be able to host her in chamber and present her with this resolution,” said Sen. Anderson. “Mrs. Brown has been a resident of Rockdale County for years and has been a constant champion for community education. She is passionate about helping others and has contributed to the betterment of her community by providing families who are less fortunate with everday necessities. Mrs. Brown has displayed true leadership in her community and I thank her for all of her contributions.”
Among her many accomplishments Mrs. Brown is a recipient of the NAACP Outstanding Service Award, the Rockdale County Schools Champion of Education Award, the Rockdale County Public Award and, most recently, the Women’s Caucus Award. Mrs. Brown works with Edwards Middle School and assists the school by serving children from low income families.
