Sen. Staton Welcomes the Peach Queens to the State Senate

ATLANTA (February 28, 2013) – Sen. Cecil Staton (R-Macon) recognized the 2012 Georgia Peach Queens today with Senate Resolution 66 in the Senate Chamber.

“It has been a longstanding tradition to honor the Peach Queens in the Georgia Senate Chamber each year,” said Sen. Staton. “As official representatives of the Georgia Peach Festival, the Peach Queens play an important role promoting Georgia’s peach industry. I’m extremely proud to recognize these beautiful young ladies, and consider it a privilege to represent Peach County – the heart of Georgia’s Peach industry.”

The Georgia Peach Festival was founded in 1987 to promote Georgia’s Peach industry and celebrate Peach County’s status as one of the largest producers of peaches in the state. In addition, the Georgia Peach Festival also generates significant economic opportunities for Peach County and the surrounding areas.

The 2012 Peach Queens include Tiny Miss Georgia Peach, Brynn Owens; Little Miss Georgia Peach, Lauren Roberts; Junior Miss Georgia Peach, Kaitlyn Bustamante; Teen Miss Georgia Peach, Cassidy Starling; and Miss Georgia Peach, Anna Treadway, who were formally recognized by Sen. Staton in the Senate Chamber.
