Sen. Sonya Halpern Elected to Serve as Chair of the Senate Fulton County Delegation

ATLANTA (January 26, 2022) | The Senate Fulton County Delegation has elected Sen. Sonya Halpern (D – Atlanta) to serve as chairwoman for the 2023-2024 legislative biennial. 

“I am honored that my colleagues selected me to serve as chair,” said Sen. Halpern. “As a member of this bipartisan delegation, I am committed to working with Governor Kemp, Fulton County officials, the mayors across our fifteen cities and, of course, my delegation colleagues to ensure that the needs and priorities of the people of Fulton County are represented well at the Capitol.“

As chairman, Sen. Halpern will coordinate and lead the meetings of the delegation, which are held throughout the year as well as specific to the legislative session. She will also work with the county and city governments in Fulton County on any local legislation. Fulton County is Georgia’s most populous county.
