ATLANTA (April 25, 2012) – Senate Majority Leader Chip Rogers (R-Woodstock) was recently presented with the Outstanding Contribution to Education Award from the Fulton Science Academy (FSA) International Heritage Festival Committee.
“It was an honor to receive this award from the FSA,” said Sen. Rogers. “The esteemed educators of FSA are doing a superb job at providing a learning environment that encourages our children to excel within the classroom. By emphasizing the importance of technology, these schools are embracing new and exciting ways to teach and prepare students for successful futures. FSA is a prime example of the success that stems from incorporating parents, teachers and new educational ideals while also putting the students needs first by allowing them to choose their path.”
The second annual FSA International Heritage Festival took place at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park with over 5000 in attendance. The festival provided attendees with the opportunity to view displays of international arts and crafts, listen to live music, watch cultural dancers and acts from across the world and sample foods from around the globe.
The FSA includes the Fulton Sunshine Academy Elementary School, Fulton Science Academy Middle School and Fulton Science Academy High School. Each of these schools is a tuition free, award-winning, public charter school, which serves approximately 1200 students in grades K-12. Their curriculum focuses primarily on math, science and technology.
