Sen. Renee Unterman Honored with “Champion of Georgia’s Cities” Award

ATLANTA (September 11, 2018) | On Monday, September 10, 2018, Senator Renee Unterman (R – Buford) was honored by the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) with their “Champion of Georgia’s Cities” legislative service award.

“As a former Mayor who served in local government for ten years, it is truly an honor to be recognized by GMA,” said Sen. Unterman. “This association does a wonderful job supporting their local communities and economies by advocating for legislation that brings jobs, economic development and additional funding to municipalities throughout the state. I look forward to working with them in the future on legislation that will continue to make Georgia the number one state in which to do business and a place our citizens are proud to call home.”

“We greatly appreciate Sen. Unterman’s strong support for city government and her willingness to listen to our issues and concerns,” said GMA Executive Director Larry Hanson. “Due to her strong leadership, the citizens of all Georgia’s cities will benefit.”

During the 2018 session, Sen. Unterman worked with GMA on a range of issues including expanding broadband access, addressing regulations for establishment that sell pets and proper protocol regarding annexation.
