ATLANTA (January 15, 2015) | Earlier today, Sen. Nan Orrock (36 – Atlanta) was re-elected as Co-Chair of the Working Families Legislative Caucus, with Rep. Gloria Frazier (126 – Hephzibah) and Sen. Curt Thompson (5 – Norcross).
“All of Georgia’s families deserve to have their voices heard in our state government. Our caucus is dedicated to raising up the priorities those families share – creating jobs, rebuilding prosperity and protecting families,” Sen. Orrock said. “Our state’s success depends on the strength and well-being of our working families. We are going into this session with a committed team of senators and representatives dedicated to standing up for workers and strengthening the middle class. Other officers of the caucus include Rep. Pedro Marin, Sen. David Lucas, Rep. Dewey McClain, Rep. Pat Gardner, Sen. Elena Parent and Rep. Dar’shun Kendrick.”
The Georgia Working Families Legislative Caucus was first launched under the leadership of Senator Orrock and others in 2004. It meets weekly on Thursday at noon in order to be briefed by experts, government heads and other legislators on the key issues of the day, to discuss policy and to engage with advocates and constituents on these issues. The caucus works to develop and promote legislation and policies that invest in workers, families and communities.
