Sen. Mike Crane Encourages Constituents to Review Foreclosure Settlement

ATLANTA (February 14, 2012) – In light of the recent announcement from Attorney General Sam Olens, Sen. Mike Crane (R-Newnan) is providing his constituents with the necessary information to determine eligibility for receiving benefits from a landmark federal-state foreclosure settlement. Georgia’s estimated share of the $25 billion agreement with Bank of America, JP Morgan Chase, Wells Fargo, Citi and Alli/GMAC is $817.7 million.

Homeowners who believe they may be eligible for a portion of this settlement should visit www.nationalmortgagesettlement.com. Settlement administrators may also contact borrowers regarding certain aspects of the settlement; however, the Attorney General’s Office or any other state agency will not be able to tell individual borrowers whether they are eligible for specific relief. Borrowers whose loans are held by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are not eligible for this settlement.
