ATLANTA (September 27, 2017) | Sen. Lester Jackson (D – Savannah) has been appointed to the Senate Information Technology Corridors in Georgia Study Committee as an Ex-Officio member by Lt. Governor Casey Cagle.
“I am grateful for this opportunity to take a closer look at the information technology possibilities in our state and I am particularly interested in the potential for further IT development along the I-16 corridor,” said Sen. Jackson. “Throughout these meetings, I look forward to exploring ways to cement Georgia’s reputation as an IT hub, as well as learning what the Savannah area can do to improve our IT infrastructure.”
The Senate Information Technology Corridors in Georgia Study Committee was created through the adoption of Senate Resolution 410 and is tasked with researching corridors that would benefit from increased IT development. The Committee is comprised of members of both the state Senate and experts in the IT field. The Committee will submit a report of their findings no later than December 1, 2017.
