ATLANTA (August 2, 2016) | Sen. Larry Walker III (R – Perry) attended the ribbon cutting ceremony for the Georgia Veterans Education Career Transition Resource Center (VECTR) in Warner Robins today. Several stakeholders and members were also in attendance for the ceremony.
“It is an honor to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony for VECTR,” said Sen. Walker. “I am proud to have the center in our local community and look forward to working with them to assist veterans. It is critical for our Technical College System, Board of Regents and legislature to work together to provide resources for those who sacrifice everything for our freedoms. We can achieve more if we work together and ensure our veterans have the resources they need to transition back into the workforce.”
The Georgia Veterans Education Career Transition Resource Center is a collaboration of the Technical College System and the University System of Georgia. Educational programs for the center will be offered by Middle Georgia State University and Central Georgia Technical College. Middle Georgia State University will operate the center, located in Warner Robins. VECTR is a statewide resource center for veterans as they transition into Georgia’s civilian workforce and postsecondary educational institutions.
