Sen. Larry Walker Appointed to Senate Study Committees and Georgia Joint Defense Commission

ATLANTA (August 17, 2018) | Sen. Larry Walker (R – Perry) was recently appointed by Lt. Governor Casey Cagle to serve on the Senate Study Committee on Continual Audit Exceptions on Local School Systems, the Senate Study Committee on the Excessive and Duplicative Regulatory Oversight of Community Based Intellectual and Developmental Disability (IDD), and on the Georgia Joint Defense Commission.

“I am looking forward to serving on these study committees and am honored to be chosen to serve on the Georgia Joint Defense Commission,” said Sen. Walker. “Having an understanding of the challenges that Georgians face is crucial to creating legislative solutions to these problems. I believe that these study committees will be especially helpful this upcoming session as we tackle some of Georgia’s most pressing issues having to do with a wide range of topics – from audit regulations on schools to IDD provider procedures. I am especially looking forward to serving on the Joint Defense Commission as Robins Air Force Base is a valued employer and vital industry for middle Georgia. This commission is a testament to Georgia’s dedication to ensuring our military installations thrive for years to come.”
