ATLANTA (August 6, 2018) | Thursday, August 2nd, Sen. Kay Kirkpatrick (R – Marietta) joined Sen. Ed Harbison (D – Columbus) as he hosted 55 students from the International Military Student Office (IMSO) at the state Capitol.
“It is always such an honor to have any military member visit the Capitol,” said Sen. Kirkpatrick. “This visit was special because not only were we able to educate these students on certain governmental operations in the U.S., they also taught us so much about themselves and where they come from. I look forward to attending this event each year and meeting and building relationships with those who serve around the world.”
The IMSO is headquartered in Ft. Benning, Georgia, where military students from across the world come to learn more about the United States’ government. This year, during their visit to the state Capitol, students were able to engage in conversations with some of Georgia’s state senators to understand first-hand some of the duties of our legislators.
