ATLANTA (July 23, 2026) — Sen. Kay Kirkpatrick (R–Marietta) has been elected to serve on the Executive Committee of the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL), the bipartisan organization representing the nation’s state legislatures.
The NCSL Executive Committee serves as the organization’s governing body, providing strategic direction and oversight for its operations, programs and policy priorities. Comprised of 63 elected members, the committee works to strengthen state legislatures and advance the interests of states through bipartisan collaboration and the exchange of policy ideas.
“I am honored by the opportunity to serve on the Executive Committee of the National Conference of State Legislatures,” said Sen. Kirkpatrick. “NCSL plays an important role in bringing together state leaders from across the country to share ideas and develop practical solutions to the challenges our states face. I look forward to representing Georgia, contributing to those conversations and helping ensure state legislatures remain strong, effective institutions that best serve the people.”
The Executive Committee meets four times each year to oversee the development and implementation of NCSL’s policies and strategic initiatives.
In addition to her election to the Executive Committee, Sen. Kirkpatrick was nominated to serve as Georgia’s Host State Member for the 2027 NCSL Legislative Summit, which will be held in Atlanta. In that role, she will help showcase Georgia while supporting preparations for one of the nation’s largest gatherings of state legislators and legislative staff.
