Sen. Kay Kirkpatrick Appointed to Healthcare Task Force

ATLANTA (September 3, 2019) | Lt. Governor Geoff Duncan recently appointed Sen. Kay Kirkpatrick (R – Marietta) to serve as a member of the Task Force on Healthcare Access and Cost.

“I am honored to be chosen to serve on this task force and to get to work on some of the healthcare topics that impact our constituent’s access to care,” said Sen. Kirkpatrick. “We know that there are a number of areas in the field that we could improve in, including, but not limited to, doctor and nurse shortages, insurance costs and rural hospital closures. We intend to use this taskforce’s work to help us dive deeper into potential legislation that could alleviate some of these issues. I look forward to working with the members of this committee to help make healthcare accessible for everyone.”

The 16 member task force will be chaired by Lt. Governor Duncan and will hold three meetings – Thursday, September 5th; Wednesday, October 9th; and Tuesday, November 5th – in room 450 in the State Capitol. Members of the task force will “evaluate: 1) price transparency and other free market solutions; 2) data and technology utilization; and 3) employer innovation.”

The meetings will be livestreamed and archived at the link below:
