ATLANTA (April 27, 2020) | Sen. Jeff Mullis (R – Chickamauga) supports Gov. Brian Kemp’s Day of Prayer services held at the Capitol today.
“The power of prayer can truly be felt when a number of individuals gather together to lift up their concerns to a higher power,” said Sen. Mullis. “Especially in this time of worldwide uncertainty, it is comforting to lean on our spiritual beliefs in the presence of others. I was especially proud that Pastor Joel Southerland from Peavine Baptist Church in Rock Spring was one of the fifteen clergy members invited to participate in today’s services at the Capitol. I was also present when former Gov. Sonny Purdue gathered clergy members together to pray for rain in the middle of a devastating drought. It wasn’t long after that vigil that Georgia experienced the rainfall that it so desperately needed. I have faith that we will see a similar result after today’s day of prayer.”
