ATLANTA (May 13, 2016) | On May 6, 2016, Sen. Jeff Mullis was presented the J.C. Gober Community Service Award at the Walker County Young Farmers’ Annual Awards Banquet. Sen. Mullis was selected for his service and support of Agriculture Education and the agriculture industry in Walker County. Agriculture is the number one industry in Georgia and Sen. Mullis’ continued support was commended during the awards ceremony.
“I am humbled to be presented this award by the top industry in Georgia,” said Sen. Mullis. “I look forward to continuing my work on behalf of agriculture and all of those who work tirelessly to keep it growing and prospering. It is an honor to work with our local community to keep District 53 moving forward.”
“Sen. Mullis has given in countless ways to serve his constituents in Walker County and District 53,” said Betts Berry, Walker County Young Farmer Advisor.
The J.C. Gober Community Service Award is presented annually to two recipients. The award is given in honor of J.C. Gober who served his community with dedication and many years of community services. Mr. Gober was a vocational agriculture teacher and an adviser for Future Farmers of America.
