Sen. Jeff Mullis Attends School Bus Safety Summit

ATLANTA (August 5, 2019) |On Monday, August 5, at the Colonnade Center in Ringgold, Georgia, school bus divers from northwest Georgia, and some even from Tennessee will be participating in an all-day mandatory training and continued education course before driving school buses.  This course is required for school bus drivers in Georgia. Senator Jeff Mullis (R – Chickamauga) will be joining drivers from Catoosa, Dade, Walker Counties and some from Hamilton and Bradly Counties in Tennessee at the training session.

“School safety is a top priority in Georgia and a key component is to ensure that our students and our school bus drivers are safe during their commute to and from school,” said Sen. Mullis. “I look forward to speaking with our drivers and taking part in this training session.”

The training and continued education course will include speakers from the following agencies: Georgia Governor’s Office, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration – USDOT, Georgia Department of Public Safety, Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office, Georgia Department of Education, Georgia Lt. Governor Geoff Duncan’s Office, Catoosa County Public Schools Transportation Department and other stakeholders.
