ATLANTA (Sept. 26, 2013) – State Senator Donzella James (D-Atlanta) recently received the 2013 R.I.C.E. Government Award. The Rising In Community Excellence Award (R.I.C.E.) is given to individuals who exemplify professional excellence while edifying the community.
“It was an honor to be recognized by such an upstanding organization,” said Senator James. “My greatest passion in life is to serve those in my community who are in need. While there is still much to be done, I would like to thank those who nominated and voted for me.”
R.I.C.E. Award nominees are innovative and charitable visionaries who recognize the importance of their presence and contribution to the community. Founder C. Chandon Carter created the RICE Awards as a refreshing way to honor individuals whose reach extends beyond the four walls of the traditional church and dynamically impacts the local community at large.
