ATLANTA (August 2, 2013) – Senator Hardie Davis (D – Augusta) has released the following statement regarding the passing of Georgia State Representative Quincy Murphy:
“Today, while traveling out of state I was deeply saddened to learn the news of Quincy’s passing. Augusta and the State of Georgia has lost a good friend, mentor and family man who cared sincerely about those he served, his state and those who could not stand up for themselves. The loss of Rep. Murphy will be felt across the entire State of Georgia, as he was more than just a colleague in the legislature—he was simply ‘Q’. I will always remember Quincy’s steadfast dedication to his family, church and community.
“Evett and I send our prayers and condolences to the Murphy family during this time of mourning.”
