ATLANTA (March 20, 2014) | Sen. Hardie Davis (Augusta) has released the following statement today regarding the final day of the 2014 legislative session:
“The last day of the 2014 legislative session is always a mixture of emotions, but this year, it is only bittersweet. The Georgia General Assembly has been a second family to me since my election to the House of Representatives in 2007, and subsequent election to the Senate in 2010. The legislators who serve, as well as the employees who work at the Capitol, have become dear friends that I will miss greatly.
“To my constituents – I am sincerely grateful for the opportunity to serve the 22nd Senate District during one of the most critical times in the State of Georgia. You have trusted me to be your voice at the Georgia State Capitol, and it is a task that I have never taken lightly. You have shared happiness and hardships with me during my time as a legislator—this sincerity and honesty has only strengthened my desire to work for the greater good of Augusta. Thank you for letting me serve as your state senator, for embracing my family as much as you have embraced me, and for holding me to nothing less but the highest standards. It has truly been an honor and a privilege to represent each and every one of you.”
