AUGUSTA (September 3, 2013) – The Augusta chapter of New Leaders Council (NLC) was introduced last week at an event hosted by Sen. Hardie Davis (Augusta). Over 75 young professionals from the CSRA and surrounding areas were in attendance and eager to learn more about the New Leaders Council Augusta Chapter. The newly-formed chapter seeks to recruit young professionals who aspire to become engaged civic leaders in the community.
“Augusta’s future highly depends on current efforts to cultivate a new generation of community leaders,” said Senator Davis. “I am thrilled by the turnout at last week’s event and look forward to taking part in the organization’s future endeavors.”
“New Leaders Council is thrilled to expand our leadership training program to Augusta. We are excited to work with Senator Davis developing next generation leaders,” said Mark Riddle, Executive Director, NLC.
New Leaders Council (NLC) is a non-profit organization that works to train and promote the progressive political entrepreneurs of tomorrow in order to create civically-engaged leaders in business and industry. The signature NLC program is the NLC Institute, a 5 month fellowship running from January – May of each year. Across the nation, NLC recruits passionate, entrepreneurial young men and women from outside traditional power structures and equips them with the skills necessary to be leaders in their communities and careers.
Young professionals interested in being a member of the 2014 NLC Institute may apply at http://act.newleaderscouncil.org/page/s/apply-to-the-nlc-institue or go to www.newleaderscouncil.org for more information.
