Sen. Greg Kirk Speaks at Georgia Military College’s Eastman Campus’ First Graduation Ceremony

ATLANTA (June 20, 2018)  |  Sen. Greg Kirk (R – Americus) recently served as the commencement speaker for the Georgia Military College’s (GMC) Eastman, Dublin and Warner Robins’ graduation on June 9, 2018. This ceremony celebrated GMC–Eastman’s first graduating class, consisting of four students who each received an Associate’s degree.

“I was more than honored to be asked to speak at GMC’s graduation ceremony and I want to commend GMC–Eastman for this major milestone,” said Sen. Kirk. “I am confident that over the next several years, this institution is going to continue to grow, setting so many more of the students in our community up for success. The work that these four graduates, along with the graduates from Dublin and Warner Robins, have put in during their time at GMC is remarkable and I look forward to seeing what the future holds for these leaders.”

“Senator Greg Kirk accepted the invitation as commencement speaker without hesitation,” Erik Walton, Director of GMC–Eastman, said. “His role was extra special for the Eastman students, who he represents. To see someone from their area that cares about their education and their journey was inspiring.”

GMC–Eastman began offering classes on August 1, 2016, and after almost two years running has welcomed its first graduating class: Leah Griffith, Lane Barrows, Lawadija Carr and Cassandra Stewart.
