ATLANTA (April 7, 2016) | Sen. Gail Davenport (D – Jonesboro) and Community Outreach in Action, Inc. will be hosting a community wide U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)/The Emergency Food Assistance Program(TEFAP) food distribution on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 9 a.m. Hundreds of pounds of food will be given out on a first come, first serve basis. The food sources include Wal-Mart, Kroger, Publix, Midwest Food Bank and the Atlanta Community Food Bank.
“I know how important these events are to our community, and I am thankful I get to be a part of it,” said Sen. Davenport. “We can’t erase poverty entirely, but every one of us has the ability to donate and volunteer at events such as this one to help those who need it most.”
The distribution will take place at Beulah Missionary Baptist Church, located at 2340 Clifton Springs Road, Decatur, Ga. 30034, where Rev. Jerry Black is pastor. All are welcome to attend.
