Sen. Frank Ginn Appointed to Serve on Senate Advancing Forest Innovation in Georgia Study Committee

ATLANTA (May 30, 2024) – Georgia State Senator Frank Ginn (R–Danielsville) has been appointed to serve on the Senate Advancing Forest Innovation in Georgia Study Committee, in accordance with Senate Resolution 786. The committee – aimed at fortifying Georgia’s leadership in the forestry, timber and forest products industries – will also include Senate President Pro Tempore and Committee Chairman John F. Kennedy (R–Macon), Senate Majority Leader Steve Gooch (R–Dahlonega), Sen. Russ Goodman (R–Cogdell), Sen. Larry Walker III (R–Perry), and Sen. Sonya Halpern (D–Atlanta).

Georgia’s forestry industry stands as a cornerstone of the state’s economy, providing essential jobs and supporting countless families across the region. The formation of this committee highlights Georgia’s commitment to maintaining its leadership in the forestry, timber and forest products industries. As the leading state in the nation for these industries, Georgia recognizes the vital role that forestry jobs and forestland investments play in supporting the livelihoods of families throughout the state.

Senator Ginn spoke on his appointment to the committee, stating:

The Senate Advancing Forest Innovation in Georgia Study Committee will focus on examining how public policy can encourage continued investment in facilities that create sustainable manufacturing components, practices, energy sources and other high-demand products derived from Georgia’s forest products. This initiative comes at a crucial time as the industry undergoes rapid transformations and seeks to meet global demand with innovative solutions.
