ATLANTA (March 7, 2017) | Sen. Donzella James (D – Atlanta), along with Sen. Nan Orrock (D – Atlanta) and Georgia House Representative Able Mable Thomas (D – Atlanta) celebrated Ghana Day at the Capitol on Monday, March 6 by hosting representatives from Georgia’s Ghanaian community.
“It was such an honor and a blessing to welcome representatives from Ghana and those who support the Ghanaian community,” said Sen. James. “There is still so much we can learn from each other and I am grateful for our dialogue this afternoon as we celebrate that special bond between our state and the many countries of Africa. It is my hope that through discussions such as these we can continue to bring our continents closer together.”
Ghana Day at the Capitol recognizes the important relationship that exists between Ghana and the state of Georgia, as well as Ghana’s social and cultural impact on the world.
