Sen. Dean Burke of Bainbridge Supports Danimer Scientific Expansion

ATLANTA (March 30, 2021) | Sen. Dean Burke (R – Bainbridge) is proud to support Gov. Brian Kemp as he announces the nearly $700 million investment project by Danimer Scientific located in Bainbridge. The project will quadruple their workforce in Decatur County by adding 400 jobs to the expected 2,000,000-square foot facility.

“I am delighted to see this incredible project come to our community,” said Sen. Burke. “I am proud to support a project that will give my constituents access to great jobs and boost our local economy. Additionally, this project prioritizes our movement away from single-use plastics and invests in renewable and sustainable products. As always, Georgia remains a great state to do business in and this project is truly a testament to that statement.”

Danimer Scientific is a leading developer and manufacturer of biodegradable materials and has been headquartered in Bainbridge for over a decade. Their renewable and sustainable biopolymers are used in single-use and other plastic products, and they recently announced a partnership to create home compostable packaging with Skittles.

The company is hiring for technical positions and careers in production, maintenance and management. Interested individuals can find more information at https://danimerscientific.com/.
