ATLANTA (February 13, 2012) – Sen. Gloria Butler (D-Stone Mountain) was recently re-elected to serve on the Board of Directors of the World Chamber of Commerce at the chamber’s Annual Membership Meeting and Awards Dinner held at the Woodruff Arts Center in Atlanta.
“I am deeply honored to continue serving on the Board of Directors of the World
Chamber of Commerce,” said Sen. Butler. “As the Special Finance Officer for the Democratic Caucus, I consider my duty to continue strengthening Georgia’s international business relations while also working to promote global humanitarian projects.”
As part of her many humanitarian efforts, Sen. Butler continues to be a strong advocate against the sex trafficking industry. In an effort to put a stop to the exploitation of Georgia’s young people, Sen. Butler has partnered with the Georgia Women’s Legislative Caucus and several other organizations to help protect the purity of our children.
Sen. Butler currently serves as Secretary of the Senate Ethics and State Institutions and Property Committees and as a member of the Senate Public Safety, Regulated Industries and Utilities and Rules Committees.
“The World Chamber of Commerce is excited to have Sen. Butler continue as a WCC board member,” said Solange Warner, founder of the World Chamber of Commerce. “Sen. Butler embodies the World Chamber of Commerce’s vision to promote international trade and foster cultural and humanitarian initiatives. She is also a great supporter of the WCC humanitarian campaign, “WCC Human Trafficking Awareness to Keep Our Children Safe”. Through her lengthy tenure as a Georgia State Senator, Sen. Butler has gained invaluable experience developing strategic partnerships with both the international and local business community, and will continue making a great addition to the chamber’s board of directors.”
The World Chamber of Commerce is a public charity and nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering international business, cultural and social exchange in the international arena.
